I'm not sure if I missed discussion of Board Self-Assessments on today's call as I was a bit late in joining.
Our team is looking to do a major overhaul this year, so I was hoping to learn more about other foundations self-assessment practices. I have attached out 2024 survey, and would be glad to see any examples from your foundations.
We ask our trustees to complete a self-assessment every two years. Governance committee members review and provide direction for an executive summary/reporting for the full board and for follow up actions/review.
The self-assessment is reviewed by the Governance committee for any edits prior to distribution to trustees.
Over the years, questions have been edited and added and we now have 45 questions in this assessment. I am hoping to hone in on 8-12 key questions that help identify what is working well and what may need to review or change.
