  • 1.  Board Member Background Checks

    Hi, all. Our Governance Committee would like to know if any CFs are using background checks for Board members as part of the vetting process.

    We do not, however, our research staff searches social media and the web to see if there are any flags. We had a nominee once who had been publicly accused of spousal abuse. Thankfully, this was caught during our quiet vetting process (news article), and their nomination was not moved forward.
